Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Figure Skating Scoring Calculator — the free calculator and the paid Calculator Pro subscription. The calculator is published by Nathalie Chou Lab and sold and operated by Astra Stella LLC (Bellevue, Washington, USA). By using the calculator or purchasing Pro, you agree to these terms.

✦1. The Free Calculator

The free tier requires no account and no payment. It may change, gain or lose features, or be discontinued at any time. Saved programs and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device only.

✦2. Calculator Pro License

A Pro subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Pro features while your subscription is active. Your license key may be activated on up to five devices; you can deactivate a device at any time to free a slot. Keep your key confidential — you are responsible for use made under it. You may not share, resell, or sublicense a license, and you may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the calculator. The calculator, its design, and its code are proprietary; no rights are granted beyond this license.

✦3. Billing and Renewal

Plans and prices are shown at checkout (for example, a monthly or a yearly subscription); the plan you select governs what you are charged. Payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal on their own secure checkout pages — your card details never reach our systems. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; Pro features remain active until the end of the paid period. Price changes never apply mid-period and take effect only at a renewal, with notice.

✦4. Refunds

Not what you expected? Write to nathalie@astrastella.net within 14 days of your first purchase for a full refund. A renewal charge can be refunded within 14 days of the charge if Pro features haven't been meaningfully used in the new period.

✦5. Unofficial Tool — No Federation Affiliation

The calculator is an unofficial study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any national or international skating federation. Scores it produces are estimates for study, practice, and entertainment — not official results — and must not be relied on for any official, competitive, or commercial purpose.

✦6. No Warranty

The calculator is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

✦7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Astra Stella LLC and the Lab's operator shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the calculator. Total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amounts you paid for Pro in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

✦8. Privacy

The calculator's Privacy Policy describes what information is collected and how it is used, disclosed, and protected. It forms part of these terms.

✦9. Governing Law and Changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; disputes belong to the state or federal courts located in Washington. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest revision, and material changes to a paid subscription take effect at your next renewal, with notice.
